Community
Charities & Community Partners We Support
At Horizons Homecare, giving back to the communities where we work is part of who we are. Our Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and Lancaster & Morecambe branches each support local charities and organisations through fundraising, volunteering, event support and community awareness.
Our approach to community
How we support our local communities
Horizons Homecare is a local home care provider with deep roots in the communities we serve. Our branches don't just deliver care — they get involved. That means raising money for local hospices, completing Dementia Friends training, supporting befriending organisations and showing up for the people and places that matter to our clients and their families.
The organisations listed here are ones our teams actively support through fundraising, volunteering, event support, awareness activities and community involvement. We use careful wording throughout this page: these are charities and community organisations we support — not every relationship carries a formal partnership agreement, and we believe in being honest about that.
We believe that good home care doesn't stop at the door. It is part of something wider — a genuine commitment to the community. This page is a reflection of that.
Company-wide support
Some organisations are supported across every Horizons Homecare branch — not just locally but as part of a company-wide commitment.
Alzheimer's Society
Supported across all Horizons Homecare branches
About Alzheimer's Society
Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information, support and services to people living with dementia and the hundreds of thousands of families and carers around them. They fund vital dementia research and campaign for a society that understands and responds to dementia.
How we support them
Staff across all Horizons Homecare branches complete Dementia Friends awareness training through the Alzheimer's Society programme. We raise awareness of the charity's services among clients and families, and support fundraising throughout the year. Dementia is the most common condition among the people we support at home — this relationship reflects that day-to-day reality.
Latest update
Our teams completed Dementia Friends awareness training, helping carers better understand and support clients living with dementia.

Blackpool Carers Centre provides free information, advice and support to unpaid carers of all ages in Blackpool — from young carers to older carers. They support people who look after a family member or friend to access the help they need, plan for emergencies, and find time to rest and recharge.
How we support them
Many of the families we support include unpaid carers carrying significant responsibilities. Our Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre branch supports Blackpool Carers Centre through awareness activities and community partnership, helping families understand the support available locally — and when professional home care can give unpaid carers the break they need.
